This is our version of LYRA ‘s “New Day” featuring the amazingly talented Cathy Forristal and Cliodhna Lily Gahan singing leads.
“The overall objective of the Waterford Marine Search and Rescue unit is to provide and organise Search and Rescue on lakes, Rivers and Tributaries in Waterford City and County 24- Hours a day, 365 days of the year.
The Waterford Marine Search and Rescue operates a weekend suicide prevention patrol system on the quays in Waterford City. Since the establishment of the weekend suicide prevention patrol system in 2010, 15 people have been rescued from the water and another 50 people have been directly or indirectly talked away from the railings. The service completely rely on the time and dedication of the 40 volunteers. They give up their weekends, bank holidays and Christmas holidays to save other peoples lives. The volunteers give up their lives for the good of others, so they should be recognised for what they do.”
We chose to record LYRA’s New Day as we felt it would send a message of hope and light to those in distress and going through tough times.
The choir overwhelmingly voted for Waterford MSAR as the charity we should use the video to raise money for. Without doubt WMSAR provide an essential support service to the people of Waterford and the voluteers are often exposed to very distressful situations.

We’d like to thank

Cliodhna and Cathy for sharing their ridiculously incredible voices with us.
Copper Coast Geopark for providing the beautiful venue to shoot the video in.
